Flights are never cheap in the summer - we were planning to visit my family at some point but it has to be before mid-June or after mid-August to get decent fares.

I just did a search, cheapest price in July is just shy of $1000.

Plus we're moving in April, and around here the deposit on apartments is three months rent, so that's nearly $2800 gone, and then we have to furnish the place... I just don't think it's in the cards for us.
